The Petal Express, a boutique and flower shop originally from Sinton, Texas, has come to Cuero. Owners Aaron Franco and Adrian Alaniz made the leap and decided to open their new store in Cuero after visiting at Christmastime and admiring the decorations and the hometown feel.

“We were having a really hard time finding a place in Victoria,” Alaniz explained, “where we originally wanted to be, a little closer to home. But then we came in December for the Christmas lights in the park and it was beautiful. I saw the amount of sponsorship from the different businesses and families that provide the light display. I was like, this town really comes together for this display, I can imagine they come together for everything else.”

“That was the challenge with opening a location in Victoria,” Franco added. “We were so familiar with the community and the community aspect of Sinton and being in a small town that we were lacking that every time we would go look at a building. We were like, ok, how are we going to be involved in the community?”

Alaniz was the representative for Texas in 2019, when florists from each state were selected to decorate the White House for Christmas.

“I was looking through a magazine and I had seen that a lady from Louisiana had the opportunity to go and decorate the White House. I was skimming through that article and I read how she applied, she went onto their website and applied for the position.
