As was the case with many events throughout the area one year ago, Hurricane Harvey postponed or even canceled them. The Texas Rural Leadership Program’s (TRLP) DeWitt County team met for the first time in July of 2017 with plans for fall training and a community project in the coming year. That plan changed with Harvey, and TRLP held a second kickoff night Aug. 27. The fall sessions are scheduled to start Sept. 11 with meetings every other Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Cuero Rockhouse.

Started in 1990, TRLP is a non-profit corporation built of business, civic, education, government and religious leaders throughout Texas. Partnering with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, TRLP helps community leaders engage with the ultimate goal of completing a project which will benefit the entire community.
