Veteran’s Day Celebration at Yorktown ISD

Friday morning, the Yorktown ISD held a well-attended celebration to honor military veterans for Veteran’s Day weekend.

Featuring students from all levels, the event opened with a welcome address by YJHS Student Council Vice-president Aubrie Ruppert. Following her welcome, Madison Stanchos lead the invocation. Once the Color Guard presented the flags, YES fourth graders Brody Metting, Jet Rodriguez, and Conor Saunders led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance, Pledge to the Texas Flag, and a moment of silence. 

Yorktown High School student Christa Garcia sang the Star Spangled Banner, followed by Jessica Garcia, Alexis Longoria, Hallei Wehlmann, and Hunter Day of the YHS Student Council introducing the Veterans, both in attendance and those with family present.

Chris Romans spoke at a Veteran’s Day celebration held at Yorktown ISD Friday morning, Nov. 10 to honor military veterans.
