District looming

With district approaching, Cuero was able to put together two disciplined efforts in last week’s non-district wins over Bloomington (56-30) and Gonzales (61-35). Following a lackluster start to the post-Christmas portion of the season in their loss to Floresville, the Gobblers turned things around in preparation for the district race.

Energy, effort and execution were in full force for Cuero during those wins, as coach Kennon Dvorak has emphasized to his team since the outset of the season.

“We preach those things every single day,” Dvorak said. “Energy, effort and execution are the keys to our game every time we prepare for one. Tonight, they did all three of them for a good three and a half quarters. They showed all that: energy, effort and execution.”
