Whittington goes pro to inspire kids

Former Cuero High School athlete Quincey Whittington, Jr. trains athletes throughout the area. Earlier this year, he accepted a challenge from his athletes to become a professional body builder.
“I’ve been lifting for awhile, but I’ve just lifted to lift, because I wasn’t playing football anymore,” Whittington said. “It made me happy and kept me stress free.”
He was talking to his athletes earlier this year, his kids as he affectionately refers to them, and was telling them you can do anything in life if you put your mind to it.
“I said, “Why don’t y’all pick something for me to do.” There was a body building picture on the wall, and they said, “I bet you won’t go do that.” They said, “We want you to go to the highest level.”
