Wildcats fall to Marlins
On Tuesday, Jan. 11, the Wildcat Basketball team played the Port Aransas Marlins at home. The Marlins were a deep shooting team scoring the majority of their points from the three-point range. They were able to make eight threes throughout the course of the game.
The Wildcats put up ten points in the first period, therefore trailing by four. The Marlins were consisted and scored 14 points in three of the four quarters of the match-up. The Wildcats had multiple players score in the opening quarter. Kalen Barefield and Seth Hahn each scored a basket. Dalton Eckhardt swished a three. Drew Alexander was able to contribute off a three-point play. He made a basket while being fouled and made the extra free throw to go along with it.
The Wildcats scored nine points in the second quarter, all coming from Alexander. The Wildcats trailed 19-28 at the half. Konnor Sullivan would contribute a basket in the third period while Hahn tacked on another two points to his total. Barefield ignited the offense with a three-pointer and Alexander contributed six more points.
