Yorktown Junior High football wins
By Roger Cowan
With the rain making a mess of Yorktown’s home field, the Junior High Wildcats met Woodsboro in Runge on Thursday for their game. The Wildcats would win that game by a score of 30-24.
The first quarter would see Woodsboro strike first on a long run. The Eagles would attempt an extra point, but Josh Sanger knocked it down. Jacob Guerrero decided to pick up the blocked kick and take it 90 yards the other way for two point and Yorktown first score. Sanger would again touch the ball with success as he ran in a touchdown, though the two point conversion would fail. Woodsboro wouldscore once more before the quarter ended.
The second quarter would see Guerrero score and Yorktown grab a two point conversion. In the third quarter, Blake Boyd caught a pass for a touchdown and the Wildcats managed another two point conversion.
To finish up the game, Akeem Jones took a pass from Drew Alexander for a touchdown, while Richard Garza snagged another two point conversion for Yorktown.
Thanks to Coach Jeremy Bailey for the game recap and the picture, and we wish him much luck with upcoming games.
